What is an effective way to make money from home?

I have been a stay-at-home mom since I lost my job following a prolonged illness which has left me unable to work outside of the home. I have been looking for a work-at-home option to replace my former income. I have tried a few things and have been unsuccessful...all I have added to our home was more stress and more debt. I am an RN and have remedial computer skills and ZERO interest in sales. Making phone calls gives me palpitations. (I'm a little shy) Is there any hope??? Thanks!!!
