Venlafaxine, started at 75 mg and the next day I'm in a almost manic type happiness. Is this normal?

I experienced almost the same feeling on Cymbalta when I started that in 2005. I take the medication for pain and not depression. Just this intense feeling of happiness almost euphoric. I love it but I know the meds arent supposed to work for a while maybe weeks-months.
