What would be the effects of ANY ination?

It would present the appearance of instability to the rest of the world. The U.S. would probably rally around itself (if) a strong leader rallied them. There would be hostility between political groups and extremists would foment mistrust. The government would probably end up with more power, which is what usually happens in crisis times.
